Best Vanilla Perfumes That Aren't Overly Sweet

Vanilla has suffered from poor casting. It is repeatedly asked to play icing, body spray and a candle with ""birthday"" in the name.

The smoky resinous vanilla: VANILLA REVERIE

Incense, pink pepper and bergamot introduce cedar, florals, vanilla and benzoin. The inspiration is Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille.

Benzoin adds a balsamic sweetness, while incense and cedar create shadow around it. This is the one for people who like vanilla but instinctively avoid anything described as ""fluffy"".

The boozy gourmand: THE SAINT
